Press release: Tappara gets a new forward – transfer now confirmed
According to the Swedish newspaper Expressen, forward William Wiå is moving to the Liiga team Tappara for the next season. The parties are said to have reached an agreement on the contract.
The 27-year-old Wiå has played his entire career so far in Sweden’s HockeyAllsvenskan, where he has represented several clubs over the last seven seasons. Last season, he played for Södertälje SK and scored 23 points in 47 games, which is his career-best performance at the league level.
At the end of the season, Wiå played on loan at SHL club Djurgårdens IF, where he appeared in two games and registered one assist.
Initially, he was expected to stay longer at Djurgården, but a contract ultimately did not materialize.
