Josh Morrissey, who represented Canada in the Milano-Cortina Olympics, will be on a long sick leave.

According to insider reporter Darren Dreger, the star defenseman of the Winnipeg Jets will miss a good number of games due to an injury sustained in the opening match of the Olympic tournament.

The national team has proven to be an unfortunate place for Morrissey, as the defenseman was also injured in the 4 Nations tournament played a year ago, which caused him to miss, among other things, the final match against the United States.

Morrissey has played 56 games in the current NHL season, with stats of 10+32=42, making him by far the most productive defenseman for the Jets.
