Pittsburgh Penguins secured their trusted forward – a 14 million dollar contract
Tommy Novak continues his career with the Pittsburgh Penguins on a long-term contract. The Penguins announced on Friday that they have signed the 29-year-old American center to a three-year extension that will take effect in the 2027–28 season.
The value of the new contract is $4.65 million per season.
Novak was one of the Penguins’ most reliable forwards last season. He ranked seventh in the team’s internal scoring list, accumulating 42 points with 16 goals and 26 assists in 82 games.
Next season, Novak will still play under his old contract, which pays him an annual salary of $3.5 million.
The Penguins acquired Novak from the Nashville Predators at the trade deadline for the 2024–25 season.
The Predators drafted the American forward in the third round of the 2015 NHL Draft.
In his NHL career, Novak has played a total of 285 regular-season games, scoring 65 goals and 159 points.
