Over 40 million dollars – a traded forward in a blockbuster deal hit the jackpot in the NHL!
The St. Louis Blues have signed a six-year contract with forward Connor McMichael. The contract is worth a total of $40.5 million, ensuring McMichael an annual income of $6.75 million.
McMichael, 25, moved to St. Louis from the Washington Capitals in a trade at the end of June, with Jordan Kyrou going the other way. McMichael’s previous contract expired at the end of last season, and he was a restricted free agent. St. Louis and McMichael were heading for arbitration to reach an agreement, but the deal was finalized before the hearing.
McMichael, who has spent his entire NHL career in Washington, was the team’s first-round 25th overall pick in 2019. He has played a total of 315 regular-season games in the NHL (67+87=154) and 18 playoff games (5+3).
Last season, McMichael recorded 46 points in 78 games with stats of 14+32. The season before, he set a career-high in points with 57 (26+31) over 82 games.
