One question left Antti Pennanen silent: “I can’t say anything”
ZÜRICH. The Lions continued their winning streak in the World Championships on Monday by defeating the United States with a clear score of 6-2. The outcome of the match was clear early on, as Finland took a 5-1 lead at the beginning of the second period.
Finland’s head coach Antti Pennanen was pleased with his team’s performance.
– We were effective. We scored some very nice counterattack goals. We defended well enough during the moments we needed to defend, Pennanen analyzed.
The United States had more shots on goal in the match than Finland. Still, Pennanen deemed the final result justified.
– We were effective, but we were definitely the better team.
In the early part of the match, the Lions’ top pair defender Urho Vaakanainen had to leave the game. Pennanen was tight-lipped about the NHL reinforcement’s injury.
– I can’t say anything about that.
