On this date, Mikael Granlund arrives at the World Championships
ZÜRICH. The Lions announced on Saturday that Mikael Granlund will join the Finnish national team from the NHL. The confirmation was much needed, as Teuvo Teräväinen was injured in the opening match against Germany and had to leave the tournament.
On Sunday, the Lions’ head coach Antti Pennanen provided more information about Granlund’s schedule. The experienced national team player is set to arrive either Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.
Granlund will therefore not be seen in the match against the United States on Monday evening. It is also unlikely that he will play on the day of his arrival against Latvia.
Finland will play against the United States with the same lineup as in the match against Hungary. The only change is in goal, as Justus Annunen returns to the Lions’ net.
