Olli Määttä continued his impressive form last night with his new team, the Calgary Flames. He recorded one assist as Calgary lost to the New York Islanders by a score of 2-3.
The assist came on Calgary’s goal in the third period. Määttä sent a shot from the blue line that Mikael Backlund deflected in from in front of the net.
Määttä has now played five games in a Calgary jersey. In those, he has accumulated four assists.
The difference from the beginning of the season is clear. With the Utah Mammoth, Määttä played 22 games in a minor role and only recorded one assist.
Being traded has increased Määttä’s responsibilities. Last night he played 21 minutes, the second most of all Flames players.
