Oliver Kapanen: a harsh fate in the NHL!
The Montreal Canadiens and Carolina Hurricanes are playing the third conference final in the NHL on Tuesday night, Finnish time. Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis confirms that the team’s Finnish forward Oliver Kapanen will not play in this match.
Kapanen, 22, has played seven playoff games this spring. He was initially in the lineup for the Canadiens’ first four playoff games, after which he was out of the lineup for a total of nine consecutive games.
Kapanen returned to action in the seventh game of the second playoff round against the Buffalo Sabres and was then also involved in the first two games of the Carolina series. In the last three games, Kapanen played on his team’s fourth line with limited minutes.
During the regular season, Kapanen finished with 22+15=37 points in 82 games. However, he has now played 17 consecutive games without scoring, counting both regular season and playoff games.
The playoff series between Montreal and Carolina is tied at 1-1 after two games.
