This spring, Finnish defender Ville Heinola, who won World Championship gold with the Lions, has signed a one-year contract with the Vegas Golden Knights. Heinola’s contract has an annual salary of 850,000 dollars.
Heinola played for several seasons in the Winnipeg Jets organization, but he had limited NHL appearances. Last season, Heinola was seen in the NHL in only five games.
Vegas also strengthened its defense with another Finn, as the team made a two-year contract with 25-year-old Antti Tuomisto.
