Now it has begun – NHL star reinforcements are gathering for the World Championships!
Canada is assembling a strong team for the ice hockey World Championships to be held in Switzerland in May.
According to TSN reporter Darren Dreger, the offense will include Macklin Celebrini, Gavin McKenna, Mark Scheifele, and Matt Barzal. The defense will be strengthened by Morgan Rielly.
Particularly, the 19-year-old Celebrini is generating high expectations. The young star of the San Jose Sharks scored an impressive 115 points during the NHL season and will be one of Canada’s key players.
The 18-year-old McKenna is also an interesting name. He played in the U.S. college league last season and performed well in the under-20 World Championships, where he recorded 4+10 points in seven games.
Canada will compete in the group stage of the World Championships against Sweden, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Slovakia, Norway, Slovenia, and Italy.
The ice hockey World Championship tournament will kick off on May 15 in Switzerland.
