Now it happens: A star from the Lions could become a trade commodity in the NHL – a surprising trade scenario is underway
Seattle Kraken’s Finnish forward Kaapo Kakko has become the subject of trade rumors as the NHL summer approaches.
According to NHL reporter Nick Kypreos, the Kraken may consider Kakko as a trade asset as part of potential changes to the team.
– The Kraken is looking to make changes, so Kaapo Kakko is one of the club’s young player assets that they are trying to move in some way. It is unclear whether the market is strong enough for Seattle to make a move, Kypreos commented on Sportsnet.
The 25-year-old Kakko has played for the Seattle Kraken for two seasons. He has a valid contract until the summer of 2028, with an annual value of 4.525 million dollars.
Last season, Kakko played 65 regular season games with stats of 13+27=40, and he also represented Finland in the Milan Olympics in the spring, where he recorded 3+2=5 points in six games.
