Chicago could offer Laine an attractive opportunity, especially alongside Connor Bedard. Bedard’s playmaking skills and Laine’s renowned shot could create a dangerous combination in the offensive zone, although there are still question marks regarding defensive play.

Although Laine has faced criticism for his team play, his goal-scoring ability has not disappeared. In the 2024–25 season, the Finn scored 20 goals in 52 games, with 15 of them coming on the power play.
