The Colorado Avalanche superstar Cale Makar, who lost both of his home games to the Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL Western Conference Finals, has been sidelined from both of his team’s losses due to injury.
The true nature of the injury of the player, regarded by many as one of the best defensemen in the NHL, has been kept hidden by the Avalanche like a state secret, but additional information about its severity has now emerged.
According to a recent comment from the team’s head coach Jared Bednar, Makar’s return to play during the remainder of the season is anything but certain.
– It is up to Cale himself to decide if he will come back (this season). He is doing all the work. I am not making decisions for him, Bednar told the media on Saturday.
The absence of the Avalanche’s overwhelmingly most important defenseman has been glaringly evident in the team’s play. The Canadian, who has been awarded as the NHL’s best defenseman twice, played 75 games in the regular season with stats of 20+59=79. In the playoffs, the superstar has appeared in nine games with stats of 4+1=5.
