Now! IL: Raimo Summanen moving to HIFK
HIFK is aiming to bring Raimo Summanen into its coaching team. Iltalehti reports that HIFK has quietly discussed with Summanen. He is being considered for a skills coaching position at HIFK.
– Yes, we have the intention that Rami would join the organization as a skills coach starting in August, admits HIFK’s head coach Olli Jokinen to IL.
Summanen, 64, has previously worked at HIFK during his long coaching career. He has served as both head and assistant coach at the club.
Throughout his career, Summanen has also coached teams such as Jokers, Lions, in the KHL, and in Switzerland. His most recent coaching position was in the 2021-22 season, when he led the Austrian team Black Wings Linz in the multinational ICEHL league.
In the summers, Summanen has been conducting physical training for hockey players for many years.
HIFK is still looking for one assistant coach to replace Toni Lydman, who is leaving the club.
