NHL teams with trades – the departure of the Finnish goalie was quickly replaced
Ottawa Senators and Tampa Bay Lightning have made a goaltender trade in the NHL. Tampa is sending Swedish goaltender Jonas Johansson to Ottawa in exchange for a compensation to be determined later.
Johansson, 31, played for Tampa for three seasons. Last season, he appeared in 25 games and recorded a save percentage of 88.4.
Johansson has accumulated a total of 105 games in his NHL career. In addition to Tampa, he has represented the Buffalo Sabres, Colorado Avalanche, and Florida Panthers.
There have been other changes in Ottawa’s goaltending department in recent days. The Senators placed Finnish goaltender Leevi Meriläinen on waivers, from which he was claimed by the Vancouver Canucks on Friday.
In addition to Johansson, Ottawa’s goaltending department includes Linus Ullmark and Samuel Ersson.
