NHL stars clashed - a dispute erupted in Edmonton's practice!

Edmonton Oilers’ goalie Tristan Jarry got into a verbal altercation with his teammates during practice, reports Sportsnet journalist Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts podcast.

Friedman did not elaborate on what happened on the ice, but according to him, the incident reflects a frustrated atmosphere within the team that is aiming for a third consecutive Stanley Cup final appearance.

The situation was also commented on by journalist Bob Stauffer, who has closely followed Edmonton. He expressed concern about what was seen during practice.

– There are some things that really worry me about Tristan. I can read between the lines about what happened on the ice during practice yesterday. It seemed like a few curse words were flying around, Stauffer said on the Oilers Now show.

Stauffer also referred to Jarry’s post-game comments following Edmonton’s heavy loss.

– I also didn’t like that Jarry commented on how the team defends in front of him after the 7–3 loss to Minnesota.

According to Stauffer, there was also direct feedback to the goalie during practice.

– I was watching him during practice yesterday, and pucks were going behind him there too. Eventually, one of the team’s leading players told him something like: “You need to try harder.” The same goes for both goalies. And that is concerning.

Jarry’s start to the season in Edmonton has been difficult. He has played 14 games in an Oilers jersey with a save percentage of 86.4 and an average of 3.93 goals against.

The situation was also commented on during the Daily Faceoff LIVE broadcast. Analyst Tyler Yaremchuk reminded that such outbursts are seen throughout a long season.

– I believe that this kind of thing happens during the season, and when you lose, everyone is frustrated. But when you look at how many games Edmonton has lost this year because of their goaltending, the fact that there might be some part of that raises concern.
