NHL is buzzing! Is Sweden’s Olympic defender finally being traded?
Calgary Flames’ Swedish defenseman Rasmus Andersson has long been in NHL trade rumors. In recent hours, the speculation around the star defenseman has heated up significantly.
– As others have noticed, things surrounding Rasmus Andersson’s trade have intensified. He was not removed from the lineup last night, but my sense is that trade discussions have intensified, NHL reporter Pierre LeBrun writes on X.

According to Frank Seravalli, Calgary has informed teams that now is the time to make final serious offers. The crucial moments are upon us.
The 29-year-old Andersson has played 47 games this season on the Flames’ blue line. In those, the Swede has tallied an excellent 10+19=29.
Andersson’s annual salary is $4.55 million. His contract expires at the end of this season.
Andersson will be seen on Sweden’s team at the Milan Olympics. Trades are likely to be completed at the latest before the Olympic tournament, where the defenseman has the chance of injury.
