NHL: a blockbuster trade has hit – the Vegas Golden Knights sold their top goal scorer!
Russian forward Pavel Dorofejev is moving from the Vegas Golden Knights to the New York Rangers. At the same time, he has signed a seven-year contract with the Rangers worth 11 million dollars per season. He was a restricted free agent at the time of the trade.
In exchange, Vegas receives from the Rangers this year’s first-round draft pick (26th) and a second-round pick (92nd). Additionally, Vegas gets the Rangers’ first-round pick for 2028, which is protected from top 10 picks.
Dorofejev, 25, was Vegas’s top scorer last season with 37 goals in 82 games. He also recorded 27 assists. In the 2024–25 season, he was again the team’s leading scorer with 32 goals.
In last spring’s playoffs, Vegas advanced to the Stanley Cup finals and lost there. Dorofejev scored 12 goals and 16 points in 22 games.
