NHL: a crash – a young prospect signed a deal worth over 50 million dollars!
The Boston Bruins have signed forward Fraser Minten to a seven-year contract extension. The deal is worth a total of $50.4 million and guarantees Minten an annual salary of $7.2 million.
Minten has one season left on his entry-level contract, so the new deal will take effect in a year and will cover the season through the end of 2033-34.
Minten, 22, has played one full season in the NHL. Last season, he recorded 35 points (17 goals, 18 assists) in 82 regular-season games. In the playoffs, Minten went scoreless in six games.
Originally, Minten was the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 2nd round pick (#38) in the summer of 2022. He has played a total of 107 NHL regular-season games for Toronto and Boston, with 40 points (20 goals, 20 assists). Minten was traded from Toronto to Boston in March 2025.
