NHL: a big trade has hit – a high-paid forward is changing teams!

The New Jersey Devils have made a player trade in the NHL. The team sent veteran forward Ondrej Palat to the New York Islanders.
The Devils received forward Maksim Tsyplakov in return, as well as a third-round draft pick for 2026 and a sixth-round draft pick for 2027.
Palat, 34, joined the Devils from the Tampa Bay Lightning in the summer of 2022. He won two Stanley Cups with the Lightning. This season, the Czech forward has recorded modest stats of 4+6 in 51 games. His contract, which guarantees a six million dollar annual salary, expires in the summer of 2027.
Tsyplakov, 27, is playing his second season with the Islanders. This season, the Russian forward has recorded 1+1 in 27 games.
