Motivation has run out – A top player familiar from Kärpät is retiring!
Swedish forward Petter Emanuelsson has decided to retire from his playing career. The 34-year-old player from Kiruna announced this to the Swedish NSD newspaper.
Emanuelsson played a total of four seasons in the Finnish Liiga. He first represented Oulun Kärpät for two seasons before moving to KooKoo, where he played the last two seasons of his career.
He states that his decision was particularly influenced by a decrease in motivation and the injuries accumulated over the years.
– Motivation has not been at the same level anymore, and the injuries that have come over the years have affected my decision, Emanuelsson says.
Before moving to Finland, Emanuelsson played in Sweden for Skellefteå AIK, where he won two Swedish championships in 2013 and 2014. Additionally, he has experience in the North American AHL league.
