Jesse Puljujärvi tells Ilta-Sanomat that his World Championship gold medal has been lost during the championship celebrations held in downtown Helsinki.

According to Puljujärvi, the incident occurred last Tuesday when he was spending the evening with the team at a karaoke bar in downtown Helsinki.

– We were at a karaoke bar in downtown Helsinki with the team on Tuesday, and the medal was stolen there. I had the medal on the couch, and that’s where it was taken, Puljujärvi tells IS.

He mentions that the disappearance was noticed quickly, and the medal was searched for immediately on-site, but without results.

– That’s when it disappeared, and we searched for the medal, but it couldn’t be found. It was stolen. There’s no other possibility.

Puljujärvi describes the event as unusual and still hopes that the valuable memory will be found and returned to its owner.

– That’s the funny part, that it has no value to anyone else. Hopefully, someone could return it.

According to him, obtaining a new medal is a possible option, but primarily he hopes for the original to be found.

– Yes, I have the possibility to get a new one. Hopefully, the original would still be found. I got the contact information for the karaoke place, and they cleaned up the place, but it wasn’t found anywhere there. It wasn’t there. There was no other option than that someone took it.

According to Puljujärvi, he was the only player from the World Championship gold team whose medal went missing.
