Miro Heiskanen: “We were better than Slovakia”
MILANO.
The Lions lost their first match in the Olympics to Slovakia with a score of 1-4.
Finland did win the shots on goal 40-25, but could only score one goal.
After the game, the Lions’ top defender Miro Heiskanen lamented the missed opportunities.
– There were a lot of chances, we just couldn’t finish. It’s frustrating, but it’s okay, Heiskanen said.
Heiskanen was also firmly of the opinion that the Lions deserved more from the game.
– I think we controlled most of the game. There were enough chances to wrap it up, but we didn’t. We played better than the opponent.
According to Heiskanen, the breakout play is also in good shape.
– For the most part, we got into the offensive zone. There’s always room for improvement and we could have been cleaner, but we got in well enough most of the time. It’s at a pretty good level.
Heiskanen found some room for improvement in his own game.
– I’m trying to be more effective.
