Milan Lucic made a surprising decision – a new team has been found!
Forward Milan Lucic, who has played nearly 1200 games in the NHL, continues his career in Europe.
The Scottish club Fife Flyers, playing in the top league of Great Britain, announces on its website that it has signed a contract with the former NHL power forward.
Lucic, who took a break from hockey last year, attended the St. Louis Blues training camp at the start of the season, but an injury dashed the Canadian’s hopes of returning to the NHL.
In November, Lucic joined the Blues’ AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds, on a tryout contract. He played five games in the AHL, recording 0+1 points. The Blues eventually terminated Lucic’s tryout contract.
Lucic has played 1177 regular season games in the NHL, with a total of 233+353=586 points. The veteran forward has accumulated 1301 penalty minutes during his NHL career. He won the Stanley Cup championship with the Boston Bruins in 2011.
