Milan Lucic is trying to return to the NHL – here is the new team
Former Boston Bruins player Milan Lucic, who won the Stanley Cup and played 1,177 regular season games and 138 playoff games during his 18 seasons in the NHL, is trying once again to return to professional hockey.
The St. Louis Blues announced on Tuesday that they have signed a professional tryout (PTO) agreement with the 37-year-old, who is currently considered one of the most dangerous power forwards in the NHL.
Lucic played his last NHL games in the fall of 2023, when the Canadian returned to the Boston Bruins and played four games at the beginning of the season. After that, he was arrested due to allegations of domestic violence. The Bruins subsequently terminated the forward’s contract, and he has not been seen in NHL arenas since.
Lucic entered the NHL’s treatment program in November 2023. After completing the program, the forward has been able to return to the league, where he has represented not only the Bruins but also the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Calgary Flames.
