Milan Lucic: a harsh fate!
In the NHL, nearly 1200-game veteran forward Milan Lucic, 37, is once again on the free market.
St. Louis Blues’ president and GM Doug Armstrong announced on Tuesday that the team has terminated Lucic’s AHL tryout contract.
Lucic, who took a year off from hockey last season, was part of the Blues’ NHL training camp in the fall, but an injury ultimately derailed the tough Canadian’s return to the NHL.
Later in the fall, Lucic joined the Blues’ AHL affiliate Springfield Thunderbirds on a tryout contract, during which he played five games in the AHL, recording 0+1 points.
Lucic has played 1177 regular season games in the NHL, with a total of 233+353=586 points. The iconic power forward has accumulated 1301 penalty minutes over his NHL career.
