The Pittsburgh Penguins have emerged as one of the Jason Robertson interested teams, reports The Athletic journalist Josh Yohe.

According to Yohe, the Penguins view the 26-year-old forward from the Dallas Stars as a player around whom the team could build its future.

The journalist also assesses that a potential move to Pittsburgh could interest Robertson. He suggests that the situation may be aided by the fact that the Penguins previously acquired the forward’s brother Nick Robertson from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

According to sources from The Athletic, the primary goal of the Dallas Stars, however, remains to sign a long-term extension with Robertson.

Yohe states that the Penguins would have been willing to start more serious trade discussions with Stars GM Jim Nill. However, negotiations have not progressed far so far.

– Not yet, however, Yohe says.
