Micke-Max Åsten: out
The French club Spartiates de Marseille has confirmed that forward Micke-Max Åsten will not continue with the team. This was announced in the club’s Facebook post.
The club thanked the 33-year-old Finnish forward for his brief stint in Southern France.
– Thank you Micke-Max. After 16 matches in the jersey of Spartiates de Marseille, Micke-Max Åsten leaves the club. The club thanks him for his commitment and contribution to the club’s project. We wish him all the best in his future career.
Åsten moved to Marseille last summer from HIFK, where he had spent an impressive 11 consecutive seasons. In France, his time ultimately lasted for half a season.
In Ligue Magness, he managed to play 16 matches, scoring 3+2=5 points in the regular season over 11 games and 0+2=2 points in five playoff matches.
Before his move abroad, Åsten was one of HIFK’s long-time trusted players. He played a total of 541 regular season games (32+47=79) and 90 playoff games (7+13=20) for the Helsinki club. In his last Liiga season, he recorded 4+3 points in 50 regular season games and 1+0 in three playoff games.
Åsten’s next destination is not yet known.
