Mestis team secured a loan reinforcement from Liiga: “It adds depth to our offense”
Vaasan Sport forward Rasmus Toivainen, 21, is moving to Mestis. Joensuu Kiekko-Pojat has strengthened its roster by loaning Toivainen to their team for the remainder of the season.
Toivainen has played eight games for Sport this season without scoring any points. Additionally, he has played three games for Sport’s U20 team with stats of 1+1.
– Rasmus is a good skater and a strong competitor who works for the team in every shift. He adds more depth to our offense, says Kiekko-Poikien manager Jaakko Lipponen in the club’s statement.
Toivainen has also played three games in the Liiga for HIFK during the 2023-24 season. In Mestis, he has previously represented Hokkia, Kiekko-Espoo, and Ketterä.
Toivainen arrived in Joensuu on Monday and has been training with the team at the beginning of the week.
