Finnish winger Matias Maccelli, who had a limited role in the Utah NHL team last season, is changing teams.

Utah Mammoth traded the forward from Turku to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday in exchange for a conditional 3rd-round draft pick in 2027.

Maccelli played 55 games last season, tallying 8+10=18 points. The 24-year-old, who scored 57 points in the regular season two seasons ago, watched a significant portion of the games from the stands last season.

In the trade, Maple Leafs took on Maccelli’s entire $3.4 million annual salary. The Finnish player’s contract expires next summer.
