The Lions’ world championship was celebrated in Helsinki on Monday. Tens of thousands of people were present at the gold celebrations.
After the celebrations, HBO Max’s studio praised the experienced star player Mikael Granlund. Expert Ismo Lehkonen made a strong statement about Granlund.
– In my opinion, Granlund is the greatest Lions player of all time. He even surpasses Ville Peltonen, Lehkonen stated.
Granlund has played in eight World Championships and won three world titles. Additionally, he has participated in the Olympics twice. Granlund joins the national team whenever possible and always plays at a top level.
– In my eyes, Ville Peltonen and Petu Nummelin have been the two who have always been in the World Championships and achieved great results. Yes, Granlund has now risen alongside them and in my opinion even surpassed them, Lehkonen continued.
Granlund ranked third in the all-time points leaderboard in Lions’ World Championship history during the tournament. He has recorded 60 points with 16 goals and 44 assists in 64 games.
