League team in player trades – netting a powerhouse from across the pond!
Vaasan Sport has signed a 1+1 year contract with Canadian forward Luke Grainger.
Grainger, 26, played in the AHL and ECHL during the last three seasons. He has recorded nine games in the AHL. Last season, Grainger scored 19+10=29 points in 63 games with the Cincinnati Cyclones in the ECHL.
Previously, Grainger played in the NCAA at Western Michigan University. In his final college season 2023-24, he served as the team captain and recorded 14+34=48 points in 38 games, making him the team’s most effective player.
– Luke is a player with a college background who has produced very good stats in college and has played a couple of seasons in the ECHL since then. He has a very good and quick shot. He moves well and is a playmaking center who can also play on the wing. A very potential guy, head coach Lauri Mikkola describes Grainger in Sport’s announcement.
Mikkola states that the construction of Sport’s team for the next season is going well.
– The team is very close to being ready. We are still looking for one piece.
