Liiga can stay – The Canadian who represented HIFK and Ässät found a new club
Last season in the league, Canadian forward Sean Josling, who played for HIFK and Ässät, has found a new team. He is moving to Slovakia to join HKM Zvolen with a contract covering the next season.
Josling, 27, started the past season in Slovakia, where he scored 2+4 points in 13 games for HK Dukla Trencin. He moved to the league at the end of October to join HIFK, where he eventually played 26 games with 6+5=11 points.
At the beginning of February, HIFK and Ässät made a trade, after which Josling continued his journey to Pori. He played 12 games for Ässät during the remainder of the season, scoring 2+0 points.
In the 2024-25 season, Josling made a significant impact in Slovakia playing for Dukla Trencin. He recorded 28+30=58 points in 54 games and finished fourth in the scoring race.
Before last season, Josling played in North America, where he scored 55 points in 69 games during his last ECHL season.
