Leijonat star rumored to join new team in the NHL: “Played a monster tournament”
Strongly performing in the Olympic tournament with the Lions, Erik Haula, 34, has become the center of NHL trade discussions just a week before the league’s trade deadline.
The Fourth Period website reports that the Nashville Predators are ready to listen to offers for the veteran center. Haula earns 3.1 million dollars this season, and his contract expires in the summer.
If an extension is not in sight, the Predators are believed to be seriously considering trading the Finn. According to insider Frank Seravalli, there would be plenty of suitors.
– Haula had a monster tournament at the Olympics. In a thin center market, a player known as the prototype of a third-line center would be a valuable addition to any playoff team, Seravalli sees.
Haula was one of the brightest names for the Lions at the Olympics: in six games, he recorded 3+3 points. His strong performances in the prestigious tournament have not gone unnoticed by NHL teams.
In the current NHL season, Haula has scored 30 points with 9 goals and 21 assists in 58 games.
