Leijonat defender attracts interest in the transfer market – price tag rising sharply
Ville Heinola, 25, has performed very strongly in the Lions’ defense in the World Championships. In seven World Championship games, he has recorded impressive stats of 3+3=6.
Heinola’s address for next season is still unknown. His contract with NHL team Winnipeg Jets ended this season, and there will be no extension. It remains to be seen whether Heinola will find an employer in the NHL or return to Europe.
Strong performances have increased Heinola’s market value, reports Expressen. According to the Swedish newspaper, Heinola’s price tag is expected to be high, but several SHL teams are still interested in his services.
This season, Heinola played five NHL games without any points. In the AHL, he recorded 21 points in 44 games with stats of 3+18=21.
