League superstar Simon Hjalmarsson: new team
After four seasons in the league, Simon Hjalmarsson leaves the Liiga rinks behind. Storhamar, which has won three consecutive Norwegian championships, announces that it has signed a one-year contract with the 37-year-old Swedish world champion winger.
Hjalmarsson has played 194 regular season games in the Liiga with a record of 41+130=171.
− Hjalmarsson is a very experienced and high-quality player. His agent contacted us because his wife wanted to move to Norway, and of course we were interested. He is also a good role model for younger players, commented Sjur Rakstad-Larsen, a member of Storhamar’s management, in the club’s announcement.
Throughout his long career, Hjalmarsson has won three CHL championships. His trophy cabinet also includes a world championship gold and a Swedish championship.
