Konsta Helenius flew to the stands in the NHL – straightforward feedback from the coach
Buffalo Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff left Konsta Helenius out of the lineup in last night’s game against the Utah Mammoth. The decision did not bring Buffalo a victory, as Utah won the game 4–1.
Ruff made it clear to the media what kind of performances he expects from the Finn.
– If you want to stay in the lineup, you have to play hard and bring something to the table every night, Ruff said.
According to the head coach, Helenius needs to increase his work ethic and be able to win more battles.
The Finnish forward has played four games this season and scored one goal. He has not yet registered any assists.
In last spring’s World Championships, Helenius was one of Finland’s great heroes. He scored the only goal of the match in overtime against Switzerland, sealing the Lions’ championship.
