Kiekko-Vantaa showed the door to the former Liiga forward!
Forward Joel Janatuinen, 30, is heading back to the free market.
The Mestis team Kiekko-Vantaa announces that no contract will be offered to the forward who arrived on a try-out contract in August. Janatuinen has been training with the Vantaa team in recent weeks.
Janatuinen has played 169 regular season games (30+28=58) and 14 playoff games (0+1) in the Liiga, representing TPS and HPK. He was part of TPS’s silver medal team in the spring of 2021.
Last season, Janatuinen played only seven games in the top league in Great Britain, the Sheffield Steelers, due to injury, with a total of 0+1 points.
Janatuinen has also played in North America for five seasons, including one in the junior league USHL and four in the college league NCAA, winning the league championship once.
