Kasperi Kapanen will continue with the Edmonton Oilers next season as well. The team announced that they have signed the Finnish forward to a one-year extension.

The average annual salary of the contract is 2.6 million dollars. This amount is double compared to last season, when Kapanen’s salary was 1.3 million dollars.

Last season, the 29-year-old Kapanen played 41 regular season games with the Oilers. He scored eight goals and provided nine assists.

In the playoffs, Kapanen performed strongly. In the spring 2026 playoffs, he scored four goals, which was the most among Edmonton players.

The upcoming season will be Kapanen’s 12th in the NHL. Previously, he has represented the Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, St. Louis Blues, and Edmonton Oilers.

In the NHL regular season, Kapanen has played a total of 568 games in his career. In those, he has scored 98 goals and provided 141 assists, accumulating a total of 239 points. In the playoffs, Kapanen’s stats include 56 games with a score of 12+13.
