Kärppien new player acquisition slipped out – somevideo leaves nothing to speculation
Oulu Kärpät published campaign videos related to the Emme kiusaa day on Instagram, where attention was drawn to one detail: a nameplate in the locker room showed the name Törnqvist.
The Swedish forward Henrik Törnqvist has previously been the subject of transfer rumors to Kärpät. The Swedish newspaper Expressen reported back in May about a possible transfer to Finland.
Törnqvist, 29, played last season in the German DEL league with Iserlohn Roosters. He recorded 11 points with 8 goals and 3 assists in 47 games. His contract ended after the season.
Before moving to Germany, he has a long background in Sweden’s SHL. He has played for teams such as Linköping HC, Timrå IK, and IF Karlskrona. He has accumulated 497 SHL games, with a total of 73 goals and 93 assists for 166 points.
Törnqvist has also played five games for the Swedish national team during his career.
