Kärppien key player is leaving – here is the new team
Defender Viljami Juusola, 23, who has played for Oulun Kärpät for a long time, continues his career in Norway’s top league. His new address is Lillehammer, which has signed the Finnish defender for the upcoming season.
Juusola is a player who has gone through the Kärpät junior system, having accumulated a total of 80 Liiga games over three seasons. Last season, he was given responsibility in 25 games with stats of 1+5=6.
In addition to the domestic Liiga, Juusola has also played in Sweden during his career, where he spent four seasons mainly in HockeyAllsvenskan. Now he faces a new challenge in Norway’s top league.
– I have heard a lot of good things about Lillehammer as a place to develop as a player and take the next steps in my career. This feels like the right decision at this stage, Juusola commented on his transfer in the Norwegian club’s announcement.
The defender describes his playing style as modern and strongly two-way oriented.
– I want to bring movement and confidence to the puck game and help the team succeed this season, he says.
