Jarmo Kekäläinen Buffalo Sabres has made a trade with the San Jose Sharks in the NHL. In the deal, the Sharks receive defenseman Michael Kesselring and the 27th overall pick in the first round of the summer draft. The Sabres, in turn, receive the 20th overall pick in the first round of the summer draft.

Kesselring, 26, played only one season in Buffalo, which was plagued by injuries. He recorded just 34 regular season games this past season with 0+2 points and one playoff game.

In his NHL career, Kesselring has played 190 games (12+43=55). Previously, he represented the Arizona Coyotes and the Utah Mammoth. In the 2024-25 season, Kesselring scored 7+22=29 points in 82 games in Utah.

Kesselring’s contract expired at the end of the past season, and he will become a restricted free agent, so he will need a new contract. In his previous contract, Kesselring earned 1.4 million dollars for the season.
