Jukurit made a coup from Ilves – top prospect caught!
Jukurit has signed a one-year contract with defender Sebastian Soini.
Soini, 20, moves to Jukurit from his youth club Ilves, where he has played 55 regular season games in the Liiga over the last three seasons, scoring 4+5 points. Last season, Soini played 40 regular season games for Ilves, scoring 3+4 points, and four playoff games without points.
Soini is a 5th round draft pick (#140) of the Minnesota Wild from 2024. He was part of the team that won silver at the World Championships with the U20 Lions in 2025.
– Sebastian is a young and very mobile defender with good potential to develop further in the Liiga. He brings us more competition and options in defense, commented Jukurit’s sports director Mikko Hakkarainen in the club’s announcement.
Soini has already been part of Jukurit’s roster during the summer training period.
