Losses feel heavy for the Jokers – here are the reasons
For the upcoming season, Jokerit, which is rising from Mestis to Liiga, announced its financial figures for the 2025-26 season. The combined revenue of Jokerit Helsinki Oy and its subsidiary Ilmala Shops Oy was 5.28 million euros, which means an increase of 100,000 euros compared to the previous season.
The operational result of the parent company for the representative team will be break-even. However, the club is directing about 560,000 euros to support its junior side, which is why Jokerit’s final result is approximately 560,000 euros in the red.
Factors affecting Jokerit’s result included the club’s early confirmation of promotion to Liiga, the absence of qualifying games, and the move to Veikkaus Arena. Jokerit’s ticket sales revenue dropped by about 700,000 euros from the previous season, season ticket sales fell by 100,000 euros, and event costs increased by nearly 400,000 euros.
In contrast, in partner sales, Jokerit reports having exceeded its targets with total revenue rising by several hundred thousand. Jokerit’s chairman Mikko Saarni also states that the club’s equity is over 600,000 euros positive.
– Naturally, the costs during the summer are really high as we move to Liiga, but we will manage it, among other things, with the help of good partners. Our goal was to reach Liiga with the original capital, without debt, and to do it in three years while playing at the arena. All of that will happen, which I think is a great achievement for the overall situation. We are looking forward to future challenges with a positive mindset, Saarni states in Jokerit’s press release.
