After a poor start, Oulu’s Kärpät will receive the expected super reinforcement on Wednesday for the home game against Jukurit.
The star goalie Niklas Rubin, who was injured in the fourth game of the regular season, returns to the net for the Oulu team after nearly two months of rest.
Rubin, who was acquired from Porin Ässät with high expectations, played four games before his injury with an impressive save percentage of 93.4.
After Rubin’s injury, Visa Vedenpää and Felix Sandström have been seen in goal for the Kärpät. Vedenpää’s save percentage is 85.6% and Sandström’s is 87.4%.
In addition to Rubin, Kärpät will also get back star defenseman Jiri Tichacek, who has been sidelined for a few games before the national team break.
