Kärpät opened up about Niklas Rubin’s situation – major update on the star goalkeeper’s return schedule
Kärpät has provided additional information about their star goalkeeper Niklas Rubin, who has been on the sick list for a couple of months.
The Swede, who has been recovering from an injury throughout the entire training season, is believed to be fit to play as the new Liiga season starts next week.
– Goalkeeper Niklas Rubin will be absent from this week’s practice matches as a precaution. According to the current assessment, Rubin is expected to return to the team’s lineup normally next week, Kärpät reports on X.
The 30-year-old Rubin, starting his second season with Kärpät, has suffered from serious injuries in recent years. The goalkeeper played only 36 matches last season. In the season before that, he only appeared in 24 matches while playing for Ässät.
The upcoming season will be Rubin’s fifth in the Liiga. He represented Porin Ässät for three seasons before transferring to Oulu last season.
