KalPa’s captaincy for the next season revealed – here is the team’s new captain
The reigning champion of the league, KalPa, has announced its captaincy for the 2025-26 season.
KalPa’s new captain is Jaakko Rissanen. The team’s alternate captains are Teemu Hartikainen, Filip Westerlund, and Benjamin Korhonen.
The upcoming season marks the 18th consecutive season that KalPa’s representative team is led by a homegrown player. Rissanen, 35, has played for KalPa for a long time and has previously served as the team’s alternate captain for four seasons. KalPa’s previous captain was Tuomas Kiiskinen, who ended his career last season.
Hartikainen returned to his youth club after spending 15 seasons abroad. Westerlund has represented KalPa for two seasons, and Korhonen has played at the Liiga level for five seasons, having played in the club’s juniors before that. None of the alternate captains have previously been part of KalPa’s captaincy.
