KalPa receives top news just before the start of the League quarter-finals.
The captain of the defending Finnish champion team Jaakko Rissanen makes his return to the lineup in the opening match against Ilves in Tampere on Sunday evening.
For the team from Kuopio, this is a huge reinforcement. The 36-year-old veteran forward has been sidelined for a large part of the season due to injury, but still managed to become the team’s fifth most effective scorer with 34 points in 37 games, scoring 11+23.
Sunday’s match will be Rissanen’s first playoff game of the spring.
KalPa cleared its way to the quarter-finals by defeating HIFK in a tight series with a score of 3–2.
