KalPa has made Liiga contracts with five young players. Defender Jesper Kotajärvi is moving to KalPa from Tappara, and in addition, defenders Mikael Niskanen and Joel Tarvainen, as well as forwards Rasmus Pakarinen and Rasmus Miilunpohja, who played in KalPa’s U20 team, have signed Liiga contracts with KalPa.

Kotajärvi’s contract with KalPa is for two years, Niskanen’s contract is for 2+1 years, Tarvainen’s contract is 1+1, Pakarinen’s is 1+2, and Miilunpohja’s is for two years.

Kotajärvi, 18, played 21 Liiga games for Tappara last season without scoring, and in addition, he played 21 games for Tappara’s U20 team with a total of 2+17=19 points. He has played a total of 33 games in Liiga and scored one goal.

The 18-year-olds Niskanen and Tarvainen have not yet debuted in Liiga. Niskanen played 37 games in the U20 SM series last season with 2+5 points, and Tarvainen played 40 games with 1+5 points.

Pakarinen, 19, played five games in Liiga last season, while 17-year-old Miilunpohja played four games. In the U20 SM series, Pakarinen scored 19+23=42 points in 35 games, and Miilunpohja scored 21+9=30 points in 41 games.
