Kaapo Kakko suffers a terrible setback in the NHL
Kaapo Kakko played his seventh game of the season as the Seattle Kraken defeated the Winnipeg Jets 5-3. Kakko scored his first goal and point of the season in the match, but was injured shortly after and had to leave the game in the first period.
Kakko’s injury occurred during a fall while he was trying to reach for the puck. Kakko continued to play for a moment before leaving the bench and heading to the locker room.
The Kraken announced during the game that Kakko would not return due to a lower body injury. He had played for just under four minutes in the match. There is still no detailed information on the severity of Kakko’s injury.
Kakko had just been sidelined for a longer period when he broke his hand during the preseason. As a result, he missed the first ten games of the season. Kakko was able to start his season only less than two weeks ago.
